This blog was established to provide content for Macthrowvideo.  It will consist primarily of meet videos and interviews both of which will be accompanied by written summaries.  There will also be contributions addressing technique and training.

Our primary author, Dan McQuaid, has been doing this for almost two decades.  His writings have appeared in Long & Strong Throwers Journal, the Illinois Track and Cross Country Coach website as well as Macthrow.  All those past pieces as well as all new works will debut in Macthrow.

Dan is a throws coach and an English teacher at Wheaton North High School.  He is a confirmed track nut and has been attending track meets world wide since the mid-90s.

Jim Aikens has been the throws coach at Fremd High School for more than 30 years.  He is a well respected clinician, author, has been involved in track at both the state and national level and is a tireless promoter of the throws.  He has accompanied Dan on many of his junkets for almost 15 years.

Roger Einbecker is the throws coach at Waubonsie Valley High School for the last 10 years.  He is a regular contributor to Macthrow and lends a technical hand as needed.

Mike Gattone comes from a track background, but his expertise lies in the field of weightlifting.  He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, conducts Level 1 and Level 2 training courses for USA Weightlifting, was the High Performance and Coaching Education Director of that organization, regularly officiates at lifting meets and is a sought after clinician.  However, you will also find him at many track meets, both local and national.
